When the Bourbon Town Council met this week, they heard from resident Melanie Mendoza about her plans to establish a non-profit organization to prevent human trafficking.
According to draft minutes from the meeting, Mendoza informed the council about a marathon that is being planned to raise awareness.
She noted that it will be held on April 11th and while she didn’t present the specific streets yet, she requested permission to utilize some of the town’s roadways for the event.
She was given permission to do so and will likely come back before the council with additional details during future meetings.
