A performance stipend for all classified staff members at the Triton Community School Corporation was approved when School Board members met last Monday.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said the stipend was for $100 and was provided to show appreciation to members of the staff who would not have been eligible for a state-funded incentive that was recently distributed.
He explained “Teachers recently received TAG money, so Teacher Appreciation Grant money from the state so all that was to simply say to instructional assistants and all non-certified staff that you matter as well.”
In addition to instructional assistants, non-certified or classified staff members include custodians, cafeteria workers, secretaries and bus drivers as well as any other positions that fall outside of certified staff.
The performance stipend will be incorporated into the paychecks that go out this Friday.
