Triton officials have been saving up to replace some outdated playground equipment for the past two years. School Board members approved the purchase of a new set when they met for their November meeting.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle stated that the current equipment at the Elementary school was installed nearly 30 years ago in 1991 and it has gotten to the point where it’s no longer repairable.
After saving up capital projects money in the Operations Fund for the past two years, officials met their financial goal and will now be able to afford updated equipment.
Superintendent Riffle said the total cost of the new equipment is $123,255. Since the purchase order has been approved by the school board, he said they’ll be able to get the new set installed this summer.
