Incumbent candidates retained their seats in a majority of the races that were a part of Marshall County’s Municipal General Election.
When it comes to the Mayoral race in the City of Plymouth, Republican Mark Senter won with 85 more votes than Democrat Josh Walker.
It was a close race between the two candidates vying to serve as the District 4 Plymouth City Council member. However, incumbent candidate Randy Longanecker pulled ahead of Angie Rupchock-Schafer by gathering 12 more votes according to the final results.
Other Plymouth representatives that will keep their current positions include Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver, District 1 City Councilman Duane Culp and District 3 City Councilwoman Shiloh Carothers Milner.
While Jeff Houin will also remain on the Plymouth City Council in one of the open at-large seats, there will be two new members as well. Greg Compton and Robert Listenberger will serve in the other two at-large Plymouth City Council seats.
In the Town of Culver, Ginny Bess Munroe and Rich West held on to their at-large seats and Sally Ricciardi, a former member will rejoin the council following the election.
Incumbent Clerk-Treasurer candidates Kimberley Berger and Lorraine Dove will remain in their positions in Bourbon and La Paz, respectively.
Of Marshall County’s 7,753 eligible voters, 524 voted absentee and 1,686 residents cast a ballot on Election Day.
Readers are reminded that the Election Board is still required to certify the results. Event once results are finalized, new representatives who won during this election won’t officially take office until 2020.
