This year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the Town of Bourbon will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m.
The event will be held downtown and will feature the arrival of Santa Claus as well as caroling, hot chocolate and cookies.
The Town is also hosting their annual Holiday Decorating Contest and Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger said that things will be done a little bit differently than in past years.
She explained, “Before residents could sign up for it, this year we’re also going to add the option that somebody can nominate somebody for that, that way maybe we can get more people involved.”
The third place winner gets $50, second place will receive $75 and the first place winner is awarded $100.
The deadline to sign up has not been set yet but if you’re interested in participating or if you want to throw someone’s name in the ring, contact the Bourbon Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at 574-342-4755.
