The Argos School Corporation is halfway through their multi-faceted construction project according to Superintendent Ned Speicher.
He explained, “We did a drainage project, draining surface water away from the school that parts completed and we redid our roofs this summer and fall and the roofing was just now completed. “
Looking ahead, Speicher said there’s another project that’s expected to get going prior to the end of the year.
He mentioned, “Upgrading the auditorium is going to start over Christmas break and proceed into January and February.”
Superintendent Speicher has shared in the past that the auditorium is more than 20-years-old and currently features antiquated systems. He stressed that this project will essentially modernize the facility and bring it up-to-code with 21st century standards.
Speicher also provided an estimated start time for a project that will have both an environmental and fiscal benefit for the school corporation.
He noted, “The guaranteed energy project is being planned to start in the spring.”
That project will involve the installation of solar panels on the sections of roofing above the two main gymnasiums and the auditorium. The necessary equipment for that portion of the project is currently being assembled off-site.
