The Argos School Board voted to distribute Teach Appreciation Grant funds when the met last Monday.
Superintendent Ned Speicher stated that the grant funds awarded totaled approximately $20,390. The money will be divided up and provided to the teachers who were ranked as effective or highly effective.
Speicher explained, “It’s going to average around $580 for an effective teacher and $600-and-something for a highly effective teacher.”
The superintendent added that the grant money will go out on the first Friday of next month.
He noted, “Our teachers will receive that grant money December 6th. I’m sure no one will mind having that little extra money in their pocket for the holidays.”
Speicher mentioned that teachers who did not receive those rankings on their evaluations or ones that left the school corporation prior to the end of the year were not eligible for grant funds.
