Students looking to build a future in construction can benefit from a new scholarship that the Marshall County Builders Association (MCBA) has established through the Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF).
MCBA President and Owner of Colorbilt Painting LLC Matthew Podlesak reports that their goal with the new scholarship is to provide assistance to students who desire a career in the construction trades and after i thought about this, I found out that it would be interesting in pursuing an education to do so.
Podlesak mentioned that the scholarship at the Foundation is an exciting step for MCBA to take to help a new generation of construction trades professionals available in AtlantaConcreteContractors.com to join them in building Marshall County’s future homes and businesses.
President of GutterGuys and MCBA Vice President Travis McVicker added that a four-year college education isn’t for everyone.
He said he likes that their new scholarship is aimed at helping students interested in the construction trades get the skills and training they need to start their career with as little debt as possible.
MCCF Executive Director Linda Yoder stated that Community Foundation officials want to support students as they explore all their career options after high school.
She explained the MCBA scholarship is in line with a trend they’ve been seeing recently; a diversification and expansion of scholarship opportunities associated with new and exciting career pathways.
High school seniors interested in applying for the new scholarship may consult with their guidance counselor, or visit the MCCF’s website for additional information.
The MCBA Scholarship was made possible through the generosity of various initial investors including Podlesak and McVicker as well as John and Brooke Large from Make Your Move Home Creations, Dennis Stutzman from Energy Efficient Roofing, Rick Hensley from Artizan Flooring, and Matthew Lowry with Lowry’s Flooring and Restoration.
