An open seat on the Argos Town Council will be filled following a Republican Party caucus scheduled for tonight.
According to Republican Party Chair David Holmes, there were two candidates who filed a declaration of candidacy by the specified deadline. Holmes noted that particular precinct committee members will vote on the candidates to determine who the new council member will be.
Holmes said officials will be able to swear the person in on-site once the vote is cast and the decision is finalized.
The individual selected will fill the at-large council seat that was formerly held by Councilwoman Suzanne Umbaugh, whose resignation took effect on Thursday, September 19th.
The caucus will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Marshall County Republican Headquarters located at 117 Water Street in Plymouth.
