Details Surrounding Friday’s Accident Involving Plymouth School Bus Released

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has released additional information regarding an accident that occurred Friday afternoon involving a Plymouth Community School Corporation bus.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on October 11th, several 911 calls regarding a crash at US 30 and King Road involving a school bus were received.

The Plymouth EMS, Police and Fire Departments as well as units from Marshall County and the Indiana State Police responded to the scene.

An investigation revealed that the bus, driven by Tammi Relos, was traveling north, on King Road and was crossing US 30. It was struck by a westbound passenger vehicle that reportedly ran a red light which was being driven by Mohammad Said, of Illinois.

The bus was on its route dropping off children after school. While a few children did receive minor injuries, nobody had to be transported to the hospital from the scene.

The children were offloaded from the initial bus and placed onto a second bus for transportation. The bus involved in the crash was able to be driven from the scene.

Said was not injured and was cited for disregarding a stoplight. Authorities note that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
