Argos School Superintendent Ned Speicher said school board members had to adjust adult lunch price in order to comply with a federal requirement when they met on Monday.
He explained, “The federal government requires a minimum cost for lunches and for us to get free and reduced lunches for our kids that qualify you have to charge the adults a certain amount of money.”
Speicher noted that the adult lunch price was previously set at $3.15 and in order to be in compliance with the regulation it had to be raised by 10 cents to $3.25. He noted that cost applies to visitors as well.
