Marshall County’s unemployment rate continues to move higher. The June unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s up from three percent the month before and 3.2 percent in July of 2018. Marshall County’s labor force is shrinking somewhat.
The county’s unemployment rate remains lower than the state and federal levels. Indiana’s non-seasonally adjusted rate was 3.6 percent for the month of June, while the U.S. as a whole was at four percent. Fulton County has the lowest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at three percent, while Starke County’s is highest at 4.4.
