Traffic Stop Reportedly Uncovers Vehicle with a Three-Month-Old Child, Meth, Paraphernalia, and an Allegedly Intoxicated Driver

A traffic stop on Michigan Road in Plymouth led to four arrests Monday night.

According to authorities, shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Monday, August 26th, a traffic stop was conducted on Michigan Road near Airport Road.

Police say the driver, 31-year-old Kristina Ortiz, of Lakeville, was reportedly found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance in her body. A three-month-old child was also apparently in the vehicle.

Ortiz was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was lodged for a Felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 18.   

During the traffic stop, PPD K9 Castor reportedly alerted on the vehicle and upon further investigation, drugs and paraphernalia were located.

The official police report states that 31-year-old Richard Hopkins, of Plymouth, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and obstructing justice.

Another occupant, 30-year-old Jennifer Vanblaricom, of Walkerton, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of syringes and obstructing justice.

The report goes on to state that 35-year-old Steven Meyers, of Lakeville, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

All three subjects were also lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
