Plymouth Community Schools students return to class today. Superintendent Andy Hartley says teachers and staff are ready.
“I’m confident in our staff, our teachers, all the work that everybody’s getting ready to put in, the commitment they have for our kids and their achievement,” Hartley told the school board Tuesday. “It’s going to be a great, great school year in Plymouth Schools.”
He said the opening-of-the-year teacher meeting was held earlier in the day, and orientation has taken place for the corporation’s new teachers. “Our custodians and maintenance staff have been working hard all summer with their deep cleaning, and the buildings are ready,” Hartley added. “Our bus drivers and transportation department have completed their annual safety trainings and have gone through their routes.”
The superintendent also thanked 1st Source Bank for providing light-up tags that students can attach to their backpacks, to help keep them visible when walking to school or waiting for the bus.
