Plymouth PD K9 Helps Uncover 12 Baggies of Suspected Heroin

A Plymouth Police Department K9 helped uncover more than 10 baggies of suspected heroin during a vehicle search on Thursday.

According to authorities, Marshall County Dispatch received a call about an unsafe driver driving eastbound on SR 8 heading towards Plymouth around 3:30 p.m. on August 1st.

Contact was made with the vehicle and driver on Walnut Street south of Harrison Street.

The police report identifies the driver as 30-year-old Austen Matthew Corneil.

Consent to search was obtained and K9 Castor reportedly alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search located 12 baggies that apparently field-tested positive for heroin.

The report states that Corneil was charged with Dealing in a Schedule I-III Controlled Substance of more than 5 but less than 10 grams and officials note that enhancing applies.
