A number of illegal items were uncovered during a traffic stop in Argos on Sunday.
Shortly after 3:20 a.m. on August 11th, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Blake Bennett initiated a traffic stop on a single vehicle in the area of US 31 and 19th Road.
According to the police report, the vehicle was occupied by 50-year-old Kevin R. Weber, of Elkhart, 24-year-old Kelsey C. Fleming, of Mishawaka, and 51-year-old Thomas B. Willis, of Delphi.
During the traffic stop, approximately two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, syringes, multiple plastic bags, a scale, marijuana and about $1,700 in cash suspected to be from the sale of drugs were reportedly seized.
Two occupants, Kelsey Fleming and Thomas Willis, were transported to the Marshall County Jail.
Authorities report that Fleming and Willis were each booked for the Level 2 Felony of dealing methamphetamine at least 10 grams and the Level 3 Felony of possession of Methamphetamine at least 28 grams. Fleming was also booked for the Level 6 Felony of possession of a syringe.
Additional charges may be forthcoming following the review by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office. Readers are reminded that alleged suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
