A rezoning request recently came before the Argos Town Council for consideration.
As a reminder, back in November, the Argos School Board permitted six lots to the south of School property to be sold to the Argos Community Development Corporation (ACDC) for a proposed housing project.
At that time, Superintendent Ned Speicher noted that the school corporation sold the lots for a total of $40,500. He explained the sale price was determined after both entities had the property appraised and they took the average of the two appraisals.
When Town Council members met earlier this month, they held a public hearing over a request to rezone those six lots, which are located on Yearick Street, from Business-1 (B-1) to Residential-1 (R-1).
According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, no public comments were provided.
Later in the meeting, members were presented with an ordinance that would change the zoning map and officially rezone those lots from B-1 to R-1. It was passed with unanimous council approval.
