Randy Head Leaving State Senate to Take Over as Pulaski County’s Chief Deputy Prosecutor

Sen. Randy Head

A state senator is stepping down and taking over as Pulaski County’s chief deputy prosecutor. Randy Head announced Monday that he’ll be leaving the State Senate August 12. The Logansport Republican has represented Senate District 18 since 2008. His district currently includes Cass, Fulton, and part of Marshall County.

Head will replace Kelly Gaumer as Pulaski County’s chief deputy prosecutor. She, in turn, will take over the prosecutor’s job, following the retirement of Dan Murphy at the end of this week.

In his statement Monday, Head said he’s grateful to the people of his district for putting their faith in him, but he said it’s time for him to step away from the Statehouse to pursue a new public service opportunity. Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray said Head’s practical knowledge and experience in the courtroom have made him a tremendous asset in the Senate, and wished him well in his new position.
