Bremen School Board members recently took a major step forward with a project that will help improve safety in the schools parking lot.
School officials previously approved a bus drive improvement project that is geared at clearing up congestion by separating pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
When the school board met for their June meeting, members considered bids for the project. Superintendent Dr. Jim White said the selection they made is already making a good impression.
He explained, “R. Yoder, they’re actually a local company out of Nappanee and so I was excited about that. They were the lowest and most responsive bidder.”
He continued, “They’re already on site so that is really fast turn around and so far I’ve been really impressed with them.”
He added that the project is expected be finished up sometime within the month of September.
Dr. White noted that the amount for this project came to approximately $387,000. He previously indicated that there was a possibility this project could be funded through remaining bond funds.
