Hoosiers looking to give fishing a try can do it free of charge this weekend. Today and tomorrow are the last Free Fishing Days of the year.
That means Indiana residents don’t need a fishing license or trout stamp to fish in public waters, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Children age 17 and under don’t need a license on any day.
Fishing events are being held today at several state parks, including Tippecanoe River State Park north of Winamac and Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty. More information can be found on the DNR website.
