Bremen Police Department and Community Mourn the Loss of K9 Officer Bardo

The Bremen Police Department and community are collectively mourning the loss of active-duty K9 Officer Bardo.

According to Police Department officials, due to a sudden decline in his health and the diagnosis of bone cancer, the decision was made to end his suffering.

Bardo passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16^th, surrounded by family, his fellow officers and veterinary staff.

Authorities shared that Bardo was a Belgian Malinois that began his service with the BPD on January 9^th of last year. His partner was Sergeant Trent Stouder.

A memorial service recognizing Bardo’s service to the Department and the Bremen community will be announced a later date.
