Bourbon Town Council members approved a contractor for sidewalk projects when they met for their June meeting.
Officials agreed to award two sidewalk projects to the company Hensley Concrete during last week’s meeting.
To do a replacement project to the sidewalk along Main Street, the company submitted a quote of $14,870. Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger mentioned that that officials attempt to make improvements to the main stretch of sidewalk in Town on an annual basis.
Clerk-Treasurer Berger added that an installation project will be done in the Town park, as there are currently no sidewalks there. For that project, Hensley submitted a quote of $16,890.
Berger said she thinks this will help improve access to the various amenities within the park, specifically for elderly individuals and others who utilize wheelchairs and walkers to assist with mobility.
