To assist with a county-wide effort to secure a radio grant for local fire departments, Bourbon Town Council members approved a match commitment when they met earlier this month.
Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger reported that Bourbon’s portion of the anticipated grant would be worth $123,000 and the community would need to supply a 10 percent match of $12,300.
Berger added that half of the match funding would come from the Town and the other half would come from Bourbon Township since they typically split funding costs related to the fire department.
She explained that when members met this month they unanimously agreed to supply their portion of the match if the grant funding is awarded.
