The Argos Town Council received a resolution last Wednesday which regulates locking commercial dumpsters.
The purpose of this resolution would be to cut down on out-of-town dumping.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney explained that the council was just meant to review the “locking-lid dumpster” resolution for the time being, as some details are still being worked out.
Mullaney noted that they don’t want to require owners to lock the dumpsters if they’re being shared so officials are currently working out how many dumpsters are in place and if any more will need to be added or moved.
No official actions were taken but the resolution will likely be readdressed during future meetings.
