After gathering a significant amount of interest, an Argos science teacher and interested students have been permitted to start fundraising for a future trip to Central America.
Back in March, Argos Science teacher Megan Huys was given permission to start gauging interest to see if any students would be want to participate in a trip to Belize during spring break of 2021.
When school board members met last Thursday, they were informed that there were approximately 30 students interested as well as about 15 to 20 chaperones.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said that the students and chaperones were given official permission to start raising funds for the trip and noted that the trip has been scheduled to give them plenty of time to make funding arrangements.
Speicher previously mentioned that the school corporation offers this type of opportunity every couple of years so each student has a chance to tag along on a trip.
