Plymouth High School and its students are earning some recognition.
“I’m proud to inform you that our Music Department at Plymouth High School has received another All-Music Award from the Indiana State School Music Association,” Superintendent Andy Hartley told the school board last week. “We also have had five students this year earn a National Honor Roll recognition from the National Scholastic Press Association. We’re proud of those five students.”
Hartley also reported that 37 seniors received certificates through Ivy Tech this year and took part in their commencement ceremony. “Tremendous accomplishment for those students and will save them and their families some significant expenses as they enter higher education in the fall,” Hartley said. “So we’re proud of them for that and the work that they’ve done and our teachers have done and administrators have done to get them to that point.” The Statewide Transfer General Education Core certificate means students have earned at least 30 college credits across six different competencies, according to school officials.
Hartley added that Plymouth High School has also been named a Safe Sports School by the National Athletic Trainers Association. He also congratulated four juniors who were selected to represent Plymouth High School in this year’s American Legion Auxiliary Hoosier Girls State.
