Marshall County EMA Releases Update on Thunderstorm Risk

As of Thursday morning, Marshall County was still in the “slight” risk category for severe storms for later today and into tonight and in the “marginal” risk for a storm tomorrow.

Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery shared that the primary threats include damaging winds, large hail and localized heavy rainfall with some flooding issues possible.

He added that strong damaging winds may cause loose objects to be blown around, damage to trees or branches could result in some power outages, trees across roads and even property damage. Possible hail could also cause damage to property.

Additionally, localized heavy rainfall may lead to ponding of water on road surfaces and other flooding concerns.

Individuals are advised to seek shelter and if you must be in a vehicle at this time, travel with caution.
