Marshall County Police made two arrests following an investigation into an incident involving a moped operator from LaPaz and motorcycle driver from Knox.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, police were dispatched to the area of US 6 and Quince Road for a motorcycle accident shortly before 7:40 p.m. on Friday, May 17th.
Officers located a motorcycle and moped on the side of US 6 with two male subjects identified as the operators. An investigation reportedly revealed both drivers were intoxicated.
The driver of the moped, 62-year-old Joseph S. Houston, of LaPaz, evidently tested to be over two times the legal limit of alcohol, while the motorcycle operator, 22-year-old Derrick J. Singleton, of Knox, allegedly tested to be over three times the legal limit.
Both men were transported to the Marshall County Jail. They each face charges of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering. Houston is facing an additional charge of resisting law enforcement.
