Officials at the Argos Community School Corporation recently made the switch to online billing for their Town utilities.
Town Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney shared that the schools have about seven bills and they started using the online services the town recently started providing through the Payment Service Network.
She mentioned that about 30 other customers have done the same since officials made the announcement about the online option back in April.
Though this new system of review and payment is now available to all customers, it’s by no means a requirement. Residents may continue paying their bills the same way if they don’t wish to switch over to the online method.
However, according to officials, some of the advantages to the online service are that it allows customers to access all their billing information at any time with ease, it can help residents gauge usage over time and easily plan for utility expenses over time and it’s a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional paper billing.
There is no charge to sign up to receive bills by email or to view them online. While it is free to see, there are some charges associated with online payment. If you pay by check online a $1 electronic check fee will be charged by PSN. Paying by credit card online will result in PSN charging a 2.75 percent convenience fee.
