ISP Assists with Inmate Death Investigation in Kosciusko County

A recent inmate death at the Kosciusko County Jail is being investigated by the Indiana State Police. Kosciusko County Sheriff Kyle Dukes requested ISP’s assistance.

According to authorities, state police were contacted on Monday, April 8th after an inmate was discovered unresponsive in his jail cell around 1 p.m.

Once the inmate was discovered, CPR was reportedly attempted but proved unsuccessful. The inmate was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed. The identity of the inmate will be released pending family notification.

ISP was assisted by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.

This is an ongoing investigation and no other details will be released at this time.
