Details surrounding a potential a solar energy project at the Argos Community School Corporation were shared at this week’s school board meeting.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said presenters from Johnson Melloh Solutions came to provide some information to the board.
He explained, “We just had a company come in and share a presentation for repair of our roofs on the school buildings and the possibility of doing a solar energy project.”
Though no official actions were taken, Speicher said school board members seemed to like what they were hearing from the company reps.
He explained, “They were favorable of it because it would actually pay a good return to the school district and really help lower our energy costs so we could put more of that money into education instead of utility bills.”
Superintendent Speicher didn’t have any cost estimates to share just yet but noted that the matter will be readdressed at future school board meetings.
