Marshall County’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in February, but it was still higher than it was during the same period last year. The county saw a four-percent unemployment rate last month, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
That’s down from 4.2 percent the month before but up from 3.6 percent in February of 2018. Some growth was seen in the county’s labor force.
Marshall County’s unemployment rate is slightly lower than the state and federal numbers. Indiana and the U.S. both had a non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 4.1 percent in February. Kosciusko County has the lowest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at 3.2 percent, while Starke County’s is highest at 5.8.
