A Chicago man who reportedly had blood alcohol content three times over the legal limit was taken into custody after a single vehicle accident Thursday evening.
At approximately 9:42 p.m. on Thursday, March 21st Marshall County Officers responded to a single vehicle into a ditch at Lincoln Highway and Pioneer Drive. The driver, 71-year-old Terry Parker, was transported to Plymouth Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation, it was apparently discovered that Parker had operated his vehicle while intoxicated. The report states he was allegedly found to have a BAC of .26.
Parker was subsequently charged with operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 percent or more.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
