Bourbon Town Council members considered adding something into the 2019 Fire Department Contract when they met last Tuesday.
Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger presented members with an amendment which notes that an additional $2,500 of compensation shall be paid directly to the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. Berger said the Chief receives $1,500 of that money and the Assistant gets the remaining $1,000.
Berger explained that this policy was initially proposed a couple of years ago by the Township Advisory Board as well as the Town Council.
She noted that it was included as a part of the 2018 contract but it was unintentionally left off when they redid the one for this year, requiring an amendment to be made.
Members voted unanimously to approve the amendment.
