Bourbon Clerk-Treasurer Covers Where Wessler Engineering is with Planning Grant Process

Crews from Wessler Engineering recently went around the Town of Bourbon to conduct some assessments as a part of the process to apply for an OCRA wastewater planning grant.

Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger said crews conducted some wet weather manhole inspections last week and noted that the information from those inspections will be included in the preliminary grant report.

Representatives from Wessler Engineering are expected to submit the planning grant draft to town officials and supervisors by March 28th. Once they have a chance to review it, the planning grant will then be submitted to OCRA.

The deadline to have the final version into the state is April 26th. However, Berger said they’re anticipating that the grant will be submitted within the first week of April.

As a reminder, this planning grant that could potentially pave the way for a construction grant further down the line.

Clerk-Treasurer Berger previously reported that the $35,000 planning grant is intended to help officials review the Town’s wastewater system and plan for any potential repairs or upgrades.

She added that once the planning grant is complete, the Town would be eligible to apply for an OCRA construction grant that would help cover the cost of the work that needs to be done.
