Two major purchases were approved by the Triton School Board when they met last Monday.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said one of the approved purchases will allow officials to replace an outdated corporation trailer.
He explained, “We have an old band trailer that after we got quotes on trying to get that repaired it almost cost as much as it would to just get a brand new trailer. So we are replacing the trailer we use for the band for transportation of instruments and that type of thing.”
Riffle said the replacement came from Kerlin Trailers and cost a total of $6,645.
In addition to the trailer, school board members approved the purchase of a new one-man lift for the maintenance department. The lift cost a total of $8,977 and came from AirWorx Construction Equipment and Supply.
Riffle said that since the purchases were over $5,000 each three quotes had to be received for the pieces of equipment. He said the company who provided the lowest quote was selected in both instances.
