Triton School Board members approved the purchase of some fencing this week in order to spruce up the area around where the new Auxiliary Gym and Activity Center is being constructed.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained why school officials felt the need to obtain some new fencing.
He said, “Currently we have a wall that’s right next to our new Activity Center that we’re building and the fence with the help of services from the wrought iron fencing in Salem, OR, obviously it’s been there a long time and it’s just dilapidated.”
Riffle continued, “So we’re just simply going to tear that out and replace it with a new fence on top of the retaining wall that’s already there.”
Riffle said the company Polyvinyl Sales was approved to do the fence replacement project at a cost of $8,001.15. He noted that covers the cost of supplies as well as labor and added that the crews will resurface the retaining wall before they install the new fencing.
