More than 28 Grams of Meth Reportedly Discovered During Monday Traffic Stop

A North Liberty man landed in Marshall County Jail on Monday after more than 28 grams of methamphetamine was discovered during a traffic stop in the area of Tulip Road and U.S. 30.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, around 7:40 p.m. on Monday, February 25th, police initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 30, west of Plymouth for an equipment violation and expired license plates on the vehicle. The driver was identified as 35-year-old Frank J. Andert Jr.

Authorities say that Marshall County was assisted by a Plymouth Police K9 which alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Methamphetamine was reportedly recovered.

Andert was detained at the scene and later lodged at the Marshall County Jail on a possession of methamphetamine charge that indicated it was more than 28 grams.
