Friday was the last day that individuals could file a declaration of candidacy for the Municipal Primary Election.
According to information from Marshall County Clerk Debbie VanDeMark, municipal primary candidates who filed for a Clerk-Treasurer’s position included Janet M. Anglemyer in Bremen, Karen A. Heim in Culver and Jeanine Xaver in Plymouth. In Bourbon, Republican Melissa Shawn Clanton and Democratic incumbent candidate Kimberly Berger filed for that position.
There are three individuals looking to run for Mayor of Plymouth including current Mayor Mark Senter (R) as well as Ben Fisher (R) and Josh Walker (D).
When it comes to Plymouth City Council, Randy Longanecker and Angie Rupchock-Schafer filed for the district 4 seat while Duane Culp, Don Ecker Jr. and Shiloh Milner filed for the District 1, 2 and 3 seats, respectively.
In addition to the district positions there are the three at-large Plymouth City Council seats that are open. Democrat Jeff Houin and Republicans Greg Compton, Nick Fisher, Burke Richeson and Bill Walters filed to be included on the primary election ballot in hopes of filling one of those seats.
Seven individuals signed up to run for the three at-large town council seats in Culver. Those candidates include Republicans Robert Cooper, Judy Price Reynolds, Sally Ricciardi and Ginny Bess Munroe, Democrats Sue McInturff and Rich West and Libertarian Joel Samuelson.
Over in Bremen, there were six Republican candidates who indicated they’d like to fill one of the 4 at-large council seats. Those people included Michael Venable, Barb Sauter, Michael A. Leman, James Leeper, Rick Graverson and Bill Daily.
Three Republican candidates, Ward Byers, Philip John Hanley and Larry Wattenbarger, have filed for the two open at-large council seats in Bourbon.
Other individuals who were filed by Friday but do not fall under the category of municipal primary candidates included Argos Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney as well as Republicans Dylan Colburn and Charles Randy Snead and Democrats Mary Gibson and Shawn L Harley who have filed to run for the three at-large town council seats in Argos.
Additionally, there will be a contested race for LaPaz Clerk-Treasurer, with Republicans Wendy J. Birk and Michelle “Shelly” Schmidt as well as Democrat Lorraine Dove running for that position. Meanwhile, Roger Ecker and Ryan E Young filed to run for at-large council seats in LaPaz, leaving one open seat currently unfilled.
