Bremen School Board Approves Superintendent Salary Increase

A salary increase for the superintendent’s position was considered by the Bremen Public School Board last week.

At the end of 2018, the school board voted to provide raises to administrators and classified staff. In order to stay consistent with those increases, school board members felt compelled to provide Superintendent Dr. Jim White with a raise before contract negotiations begin.

The current contract for Superintendent White will expire in July. He said he told the board he was willing to wait to discuss his salary until after negotiations concluded but the members ultimately decided to approve the increase for this year.

Dr. White said his current contract includes language that allowed them to proceed with the action. He added that the raise was in line with what was provided to principals.
