With one quote gathered so far, Bourbon Fire Department officials will need to track down two more before they can proceed with a roof repair project.
Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger explained that there have been some consistent problems with the roof at the firehouse leaking.
Up until now, they’ve been able to make repairs to temporarily address the problems. However, officials are starting to worry that if the leaking persists, it could potentially lead to foundation issues down the line. Berger explained that the project will likely involve repairing the entire roof.
So far, the fire department received a quote of $58,000 from the local company Morris and Sons Roofing.
Since it’s a major project, town and township officials asked fire department reps to get at least two more quotes before they make any official decisions about how to proceed.
The fire station roof repair project and additional quotes will be discussed more in future Bourbon Town Council meetings.
