Argos Town Council members discussed tap fees for the Marshall County 4-H Fair Board’s community center project when they met Wednesday night.
As previously reported there are plans to construct a multi-use building at the Marshall County 4-H Fairgrounds in Argos.
Argos Town Council members decided this week to refrain from charging project officials tap fees for utilities. Council members also addressed the fact that employees from the town utility department will be the ones to run electric, wastewater and water utilities out to the site.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mulaney noted project officials will be saving approximately $6,500 thanks to the Town’s decision to waive the tap fees and utilize utility department employees for the work.
In a past interview, officials shared that the building will be used year-round for a variety of community events. It is anticipated to be around 8,000 square feet, with a projected capacity of about 400 occupants.
