More lawsuits have been filed in connection with last month’s fatal crash involving an Eastern Pulaski school bus. According to court documents filed with the Marshall County Clerk’s Office, Amber Despot, the mother of one of the passengers, is suing the driver of the truck that allegedly crashed into the bus, along with the truck’s owner.
The suit alleges that truck driver Tylor Perry “operated his vehicle in a careless and negligent manner,” and that the passenger “sustained serious physical and psychological injuries.” It also claims the truck’s owner, National Construction Rentals, doing business as National Rent-a-Fence, is vicariously liable for Perry’s negligence.
Meanwhile, another lawsuit has been filed against National Construction Rentals on behalf of one of the other students on the bus. It alleges that the company is liable for damages “for all negligent acts committed by its employee in the course of his employment,” saying the student “received pain, suffering, emotional distress, and temporary and permanent injuries as a result of the defendant’s negligence.”
As previously reported, National Construction Rentals and Perry are also being sued by the mother of the student who died in the crash.
