Triton School Board Welcomes New Member, Reorganizes for 2019

The Triton School board reorganized for 2019 when members met for their first meeting of the year Monday night.

Triton Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said that before handling the election of officers, all the board members took their oath of office. Riffle noted that Wes Rettinger was the only new face, as Terri Barnhart, Steve Stichter and Ken Miller all sat on the board last year as well.

A different member will be serving in the president’s position in 2019. School board members elected Terri Barnhart to serve as president. She replaces former member Amy Midaugh. Ken Miller was elected to serve as the board’s vice president and Steve Stichter was chosen as secretary.

The school corporation’s business manager Tom McFarland will continue to serve as the treasurer and members reappointed Tim Shelly to the position of Attorney.

No changes were made to the meeting date, times or location. The Triton School Board meets in the school’s administration office at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.
