A feedback session with OCRA Officials and the local representatives who make up the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Initiative steering committee will be held on Thursday, January 24th.
As community members already know, Marshall County Crossroads was not selected as a designee despite being declared a finalist in the inaugural round of OCRA’s Regional Stellar Communities program.
Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez stated that despite the ultimate outcome, he felt that a strong application was submitted. He also commended leaders and citizens of the community for showing outstanding engagement throughout the process.
Chavez said Marshall County’s region is committed toward apply again but they won’t know exactly when they’ll do it until they receive comments and suggestions from OCRA. He said that the feedback session will provide an opportunity to potentially reprioritize projects and fine tune their application.
Applicants can submit a letter of intent for the current round of the program any time between now and Friday, April 5th.
In the meantime, Chavez said that a number of projects that municipalities identified during the Stellar process are moving forward. He added that future potential funding opportunities through the Indiana Bond Bank have been brought to the attention of officials.
