Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters reports that with temperatures falling, road surfaces are freezing and creating slick spots through out the county.
He said that areas with snow and slush are not too bad but bare pavement areas are where most slick
Peters said that highway crews have treated most of these spots but motorists should still use take caution while driving across the areas that are prone re-freezing.
Peters also noted that due to a variety of weather conditions that were experienced on Monday, such as snow, sleet and rain, most court roads have been scraped down and plowed off.
For some background, a court road is a type of road that has an end that can either be a T-intersection or something like a cul-de-sac.
Peters added that highway crews will be monitoring roads and maintaining them as required.
As of 7 p.m. EST Monday evening, Marshall County was still recognizing a orange-level Travel Watch. You can stay up-to-date on the latest travel alerts by visiting the Department of Homeland Security’s County Travel Status Page.
