Plymouth School Board members learned that a few major milestones have been reached on the new Lincoln Junior High School building project when they met for their first meeting of the year.
Skillman Corporation Project Manager Derek Anderson presented some information to the school board Monday evening.
He shared that all the underground plumbing has been installed and the footings and foundations throughout the entire project have been completed. Those were the two major milestones he highlighted.
Anderson also mentioned that the roofing work in the locker room and gym areas has been completed.
Moving forward, crews will be working to close the gap between the gym area and the classroom wing. Anderson noted that over the next few months, they’ll be focusing on two-story classroom wing by getting steel set and the remainder of the walls put up.
He added that they’re anticipating a brick delivery at the end of this month so, weather permitting, they’ll begin laying brick.
The project manager noted that due to the unpredictable winter weather, there are areas that are enclosed where masons can work when inclement weather strikes and there are other sections that are prepped and ready to be worked on when conditions are less cold.
Anderson said that so far, there have been no major hiccups or issues and that overall, crews are staying on schedule.
