Today is the first day that individuals can file their declaration of candidacy for this year’s municipal primary.
In the City of Plymouth, citizens can expect a contested mayoral race. Mayor Mark Senter indicated he will be filing for re-election today and Josh Walker announced last month that he plans to run for that position as well.
Additionally, incumbent candidate Jeanine Xaver reports that she will be running in the city’s clerk-treasurer race once again. Clerk-Treasurer seats are also open in Argos, Bremen, Bourbon, Culver and La Paz.
All four District City Council seats and three At-Large City Council seats in Plymouth are open in this year’s election. There are also three At-Large seats open for the Town Councils in Argos, La Paz and Culver.
Meanwhile, there are four At-Large seats open on the Bremen Town Council and two seats on the Bourbon Town Council.
The filing window will stay open until noon on Friday, February 8th. Candidates must file in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office. If you have any questions call 574-935-8713.
