Bremen Park Superintendent Brian Main and Bremen Public School officials recently held a discussion over shared services.
School Superintendent Dr. Jim White explained that when the school board met in a work session on Saturday, the existing collaboration between the schools and the town park was covered.
He noted, “We use the town’s softball field for girls’ softball, for tennis courts, a few other things, like soccer and so we’re kind of looking on what we could do to expand upon that.”
Dr. White noted that Park Superintendent Main discussed the potential of adding on to the shared services, specifically related to the school’s pool.
“One of his ideas was that over time, he would desire to merge our pools.” Dr. White continued, “They have an outdoor, we have an indoor and they have quite a few dollars worth of repairs that need to be done on that pool and so he’s kind of seeing what we could do to collaborate and maybe make ours more accessible to the public and only have one pool.”
Superintendent White emphasized that school and park officials have made no final decisions about the matter and talks are still in the very preliminary stages. This potential shared pool project will likely be covered more in future meetings.
