Triton School Board members approved a transfer of funds when they met for their final meeting of the year last week.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained that the board members transferred some money from the transportation fund into the rainy day fund. The transfer was for the maximum amount that was permitted which ended up being $68,435.
Riffle said this was done to help with sustainability and to ensure there are some cash balances available in there.
The board members are only allowed to transfer a portion of the money in the transportation fund so the remaining money will be put into the newly established operations fund after the first of the year.
